Newly delivered in 2021 by Heesen Yachts, Moskito offers power, performance and huge interior volume for a 180ft (55m) yacht. Moskito’s Fast Displacement Hull Form designed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects makes her exceptionally fuel-efficient for long passages and shorter cruising.
A contemporary interior by the esteemed Bannenberg & Rowell studio is paired with a lower deck wellness area equipped with a sauna, steam room and gym. The beach club aft provides water-side seclusion for both watersports enthusiasts and those looking to make the most of onboard relaxation. As the fourth incarnation in Heesen’s successful 55-metre Steel Class this Dutch pedigree yacht possesses enlarged guest cabins, an 82sqm master suite and a range of 4,500 nautical miles for endless days spent cruising the big blue.
Alongside a wave-piercing bow, Moskito impresses with her exterior deck space. For sun worshippers, the 100sqm sun deck offers far-reaching panoramic views. Guests can take a dip in the jacuzzi, dine al fresco on the onboard chef’s gourmet delicacies or seek solace from the midday sun under the shaded hardtop.
Reflecting the modern trend for an innovative use of onboard glass, the full-beam sky lounge delivers panoramic vistas in a cosy, light-filled setting. Floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors lead directly to the bridge deck aft where further exterior dining options can be found.
When underway, few places rival the bow seating area for authentic, wind-swept exhilaration. But it’s in the lower deck spa, accessed via the beach club, where Moskito’s amenities come alive, and from where her experienced crew of 13 deliver dedicated wellness charters. Move from ocean to sauna in just a few steps. Soak up the zen ambience on sun loungers or take an early morning workout to feel energised throughout the day.
Ideal for families, groups and romantic getaways, Moskito’s large water toy collection makes underwater exploration an every-day occurrence. Zero-speed stabilisers mean even the choppiest of anchorages are a comfortable onboard experience. Offering privacy and space, 12 guests are accommodated in six cabins. A VIP cabin is found on the bridge deck, while the full-beam owner’s suite is located on the main deck forward. Wake up to the surprise of a new horizon each morning from the comfort of a king-sized bed.
Throughout the interior, dark eucalyptus and pale sycamore joinery marry smoked oak chevron parquet flooring and an earthy palette of taupes, browns and creams. Interiors lovers will note the barefoot comfort of white Thassos marble flooring in the owner’s suite bathroom.
Two MTU Tier-III compliant diesel engines deliver a virtually silent, reduced emissions cruise experience with a top speed of 15.5 knots. And all wrapped up in a steel-hulled yacht of 757 gross tons for the ultimate charter offering.

Four years later, he took over her command, serving as Captain for 10 years before moving to High Power III (70m). His next command was the well-known 140m Ocean Victory until 2018. Ian RobertsonCaptain (rotational)BritishIan began his yachting career in 1987 aboard M.Y. Lazy Devil and enjoyed adventurous cruising on the Amazon and Orinoco rivers in South America. Since then, Ian has followed the more traditional yachting routes of the Mediterranean and Caribbean aboard M.Y. Virginian, Leander and JO. After 16 years on board JO, a highly successful charter yacht, Ian joined Moskito on the 1st of November. When Ian is not on board, he can be found in his Barcelona apartment, preparing one of his now infamous Gin and Tonics. Sports are an integral part of Ian’s life, kite surfing, snowboarding, golf, and in particular tennis - with him welcoming the challenge of a game from any guest with a mean serve. Ian is also a keen traveller, and having witnessed evidence of the dramatic increase in poaching levels in Africa, he sponsors a rhino appropriately named "JO" on the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya.

Kyle NewtonChief officerBritishKyle was born and raised in the North West of England. At the young age of 23 he decided to pack his bags along with his sense of humour and join the military, serving 6 years in the British Army as a Combat Medical Technician, so a very handy person to have around if you have an accident ;-)
Prior to joining the Army Kyle went on humanitarian aid convoys to Belarus working with orphanages and teenagers from the UK who needed leadership and guidance. Kyle came into the yachting industry 11 years ago and has been working his way up the ladder, aspiring to become a captain one day. Kyle has enjoyed Speed skating for many years and has competed in numerous marathons including the infamous Le Mans 24hr speed skate competition. -
David MccullochSecond officerBritishA fully fledged Gemini but feels like a Taurus. David grew up in Manchester and wanted to be a Milkman but due to be lactose intolerant became an Officer cadet in The Merchant Navy. After becoming a qualified OOW he worked on a variety of vessels before moving to yachting in 2016. In 5 years, he hopes to be riding across the plains of Mongolia on horseback following his passion of travelling. Recently he trained to be a sail yacht master in Gibraltar before attempting to drive from UK through West Africa and made it to Senegal before Corona Virus and a lack of a driving licence stopped him.

Matt HickeyChief engineerBritishComing from a Merchant Navy family and growing up on the Wirral Peninsula in the Northwest of England, Matt started working life as an electrician for Liverpool docks and Harbour Co. He was introduced to the Yachting industry after rewiring a 50m yacht in Italy and decided on a career change. He trained as an Engineer and has been in the yachting industry for 14 years. Matt holds a Y3 COC and is currently in the process of training towards My SV Chief 3000gt<9000kw COC and hopes to obtain it this year. Matts favourite yachting memory is sailing down the Columbian Coast along the Darien rain forest to Venezuela, meeting remote indigenous tribes. Matt’s hobbies used to include Mountain biking, Paddle boarding and live music events, but since 3 little girls have taken over his life they include ballet lessons, hide and seek and bouncing on the trampoline.

George TilleySecond engineerBritishGeorge comes from the sunny Isle of Wight, where he would spend his days picking berries and gathering supplies for the winter. Eventually he decided to join the civilised world and leave the shared dial up connection of island life in 2016, after being offered a cadetship way up north in Fleetwood. Somehow life up there was more deprived than even the harshest of winters, but George managed to qualify with unlimited engineering watch keepers license (EOOW). Most of George’s experience at sea is on cruise ships and ferries, but now he has entered the yachting world with the goal of getting more sea time for his next ticket and avoiding direct sunlight. Georges favourite hobbies are clay shooting and video gaming. His life goals are to visit outer space and play fetch on a sandy beach with his cat.

Courtney WillsSecond stewardessNew zealander - kiwiHailing from the South Island of New Zealand Courtney was brought up around many outdoor water sports and was lucky enough to develop a love for travelling from a young age. After studying at university and working for 4 years as a commercial designer she made the switch to yachting following in her sisters footsteps and has never looked back! Courtney thoroughly enjoys the service side of yachting and hopes she can blow you away with personal touches and added fun through theme nights and activities. Her accent has been known to get her in a little trouble, so hope there is no confusion, if so it can be a shared laugh over the mix-up.
