Albert LunenbergCaptainDutchAt 14 years old Albert attended a Coast, Rhine and Inshore Nautical school for inland vessels in Amsterdam with a scholarship from Shell tankers. His father was born on a ship so it was inevitable that shipping blood was in his veins. Albert went on to attend nautical colleges and courses, learning how to Captain ships in the Dutch merchant navy. In 1980 he became a National Pilot in the Northern part of the Netherlands. In 2005 Albert began as a Captain for an Owners fleet; after five years of service he
embarked upon his SHERAKHAN journey. No other Captain would be a better fit for this vessel having driven the yacht in her
previous life. He brought her to Harlingen when she was sold to the Nautical College of Terschelling and later piloted her from Lithuania for the previous Owner. The current Owner asked Albert to join the company in 2014. -
Kevin Van luijnCaptainDutchKevin completed his education as Maritime Officer at the Maritime University in Terschelling in 2009. During his traineeship on board cruise ship the MS Volendam, owned by Holland America Line, he knew that he wanted to stay in the passenger ship business. He missed the personal contact with the guests like he experienced during his summer holidays as deckhand. So, after his graduation he chose to apply for a job as 2nd officer onboard SHERAKHAN. After about a year he got promoted to Chief Officer and now can proudly say he is Captain. In his career he has worked as 4th, 3rd and 2nd engineer on both yachts and commercial vessels, but his passion lies on the bridge. During his experience he has seen that a happy and motivated crew immediately reflects on the quality of the service and success of the charter for the guests. He has nearly completed his MBA at Nyenrode on the side. With all the experience and ins and outs within the company he is eager to make sure your charter experience will go beyond your expectations. Besides his love for his job, he loves water sports and likes to spend any free moment on a wakeboard.
